Jigdschidiin Mönchbat ( Mongolian Жигжидийн Мөнхбат ; born June 1, 1941 in Erdenesant ; † April 9, 2018 in Ulaanbaatar ) was a Mongolian wrestler .

Career

Jigjidiin Mönchbat participated in the Olympic Games in 1964 , 1968 and 1972 . In 1968 he was able to win the silver medal in the middleweight division . A year earlier he had already won the bronze medal at the World Championships in New Delhi in the same weight class . At the Asian Games in 1974 in Tehran , he was also able to win bronze in the class up to 90 kg in the Greco-Roman style .

He was the father of the sumo wrestler Hakuhō Shō .
