Timo Böckle

Timo Böckle (born September 2, 1977 in Böblingen ) is a German chef , master chef , television chef and entrepreneur . He is known to a wide audience through cooking programs on SWR television and ARD Digital .

Career

Timo Böckle, son of a Swabian butcher family, completed his apprenticeship as a chef between 1994 and 1997 in the Hotel-Restaurant Hirsch in Alt Eltingen . After passing the final exam , he did his military service in 1997 - first in Stetten am kalten Markt , then in 1998 in the Theodor-Heuss-Kaserne in Bad Cannstatt . In the latter, he was the shift leader of the officers' mess and was responsible for catering for the Bundeswehr's sports promotion group . He was responsible for the implementation of military and civil events in Stuttgart . At the end of his period of service, on August 28, 1998, he was awarded the company's “best price”. He then worked as entremetier at the Hotel Bareiss in Baiersbronn .

His first engagement outside of Germany took him to the cruise ship MS Europa in 2000 , on which he was employed as sous chef in the gourmet restaurants Venezia and Asia (today Restaurant Global) during its maiden voyage and later on its first trip around the world . It was there that he met his future boss, Johann Lafer . From 2001 he worked as Chef Poissonnier in the gourmet restaurant Le Val d'Or, which was then awarded 2 stars in the Guide Michelin , and in the tower room at Johann Lafers Stromburg in Stromberg. This was followed by another stay abroad in 2002 and a job in the Pacific restaurant of the Carlton Hotel on the North Island of New Zealand . He used the time and at the same time worked on stage in the Katsura restaurant, where he dealt with Japanese cuisine and made his first experiences with teppanyaki .

After his return to Germany, Böckle passed the examination to become a master chef at the hotel management school in Heidelberg at the age of 25 . In 2003, due to a serious illness of his father Wolfgang Böckle, he finally joined the family company founded by grandfather Walter Böckle in 1953. Since 2005 Timo Böckle has been in the third generation - together with his sister Sandra - managing director and owner of the Böckle GmbH family.

Television activities

Timo Böckle acted as a TV chef after taking over his parents' business. In 2005 he cooked coffee or tea for the first time live alongside Bernd Schröder on the Südwestfunk broadcast .
