ePages is an e-commerce solution that retailers can use to create their own online shop in the cloud . According to the company, ePages is used by over 140,000 online retailers worldwide. The shops receive regular updates thanks to a software-as-a-service model. One investor in the company is United Internet with 25 percent of the company's share capital.

According to various surveys and studies, the software has a market share of between 6 and 20 percent.

The company's headquarters are in Hamburg . Further offices are in New York , London , Barcelona and Jena .

Business model

ePages is available from numerous hosting , telecommunications, ERP and yellow pages providers from whom end customers can rent standardized online shops. These include Strato , 1 & 1 , T-Online and Host Europe . The ePages solution has also been available directly from the manufacturer since 2017.

With most ePages variants, online retailers do not have to install their own shop, as all shops are stored as cloud services in databases on servers. This enables online retailers to operate their own shop even without programming knowledge.

Another large sales channel of the company is based on around 100 project agencies that sell the e-commerce solution "ePages Enterprise".

Products

The e-commerce software is available in the versions "ePages Now", "ePages Base", "ePages Enterprise", "ePages for ERP" and "ePages Multistore".

ePages Now

"EPages Now" is the successor to "ePages Base" and has been available since 2017. Online shops based on "ePages Now" have a responsive design and enable quick entry into multi-channel e-commerce, for example to sell on Amazon or eBay .

ePages Enterprise

In contrast to the offer that is sold through hosting partners, online shops based on "ePages Enterprise" can be customized by project partners according to customer requirements and provided with additional functions.

ePages for ERP

ePages is available in various packages with ERP systems such as Sage , SAP or Softengine. Customers can use their preferred e-commerce and ERP solution on a monthly basis.

ePages multistore

“EPages Multistore” makes it possible to set up an internet-based dealer network with a master shop and a large number of connected sub-shops that sell goods from the master shop.

Design Services

In the area of services, ePages offers design services: online retailers can have their shop designed by web designers. This offer is partly offered under brand names by sales partners such as Strato , 1 & 1, Host Europe or Sage .

Company history

EPages GmbH was founded in 1983 as "Beeck & Dahms GbR" by Wilfried Beeck in Kiel . In 1987 the name was changed to "d'Art Computer GmbH", and in 1991 the company moved to Hamburg. In 1992, the sister company NetConsult GmbH was founded in Jena, which was successfully listed on the stock exchange in 1998 as Intershop Communications AG.

After Wilfried Beeck left the board of directors of Intershop AG in 2002, "d'Art Computer GmbH" took over the sales, support and trademark rights as well as the customer base for the "Intershop 4" product line. Intershop AG thus gave up its product line for small and medium-sized companies and concentrated on major customers. The former “d'Art Computer GmbH” has been operating under the name ePages Software GmbH since the takeover, and then under the name ePages GmbH from 2010. In 2014, United Internet acquired 25 percent of the company's share capital. At the same time, the partners agreed to create a joint technology platform for the online shops of United Internet subsidiary 1 & 1 as part of a long-term cooperation.

In December 2017, around 160 employees worked at ePages GmbH.
