The ETTU Champions League was held for the 20th time in the 2017/2018 season. The Russian club Gazprom Fakel Orenburg competed as the defending champion . A total of 16 teams from nine countries took part (four from France, three from Germany, two each from Poland and Russia, one each from Denmark, Austria, Portugal, Sweden and the Czech Republic), which were divided into four groups drawn on June 29, 2017 . There, the eight participants of the knockout round were played in league mode with home and return games, in which each encounter consisted of a return game. The winner was the German club Borussia Düsseldorf for the fifth time .
