The Eamont [ ɘmon: ] is a river in Cumbria , England and one of the main tributaries of the Eden .
The river is formed by the runoff of the lake Ullswater in the Lake District , flows almost exactly in an easterly direction after the tributary of the Dacre Beck , is then fed by the main tributary Lowther coming from the south, which carries the water of the Wet Sleddale Reservoir with it. The Eamont first flows through Penrith before it reaches the River Eden about 4.8 km east of it, into which it flows.
