The East Norriton Township is both a township and a Census - designated place in Montgomery County in the US -amerikanischen state Pennsylvania .
The township is part of the Delaware Valley called metropolitan area to about 30 kilometers south of town in Philadelphia .
At the 2010 census , East Norriton Township had 13,590 inhabitants, spread over 15.8 km².
history

As part of the westward-oriented settlement of North America, the first communities initially emerged in areas near the border, before sufficient settlement then led to the creation of further districts.
East Norriton Township belonged to the area of a city founded by William Penn called Williamstadt, from which today's Norristown developed.
The land belonging to it was previously given as a gift by Penn to his son William Penn Jr., who in turn later sold it in 1689 to two merchants from Philadelphia, Isaac Norris and William Trent, for £ 850 . Eight years later, Norris also acquired the shares in Trent's land, becoming the sole owner.
Norristown remained an estate of Williamstadt until 1730. At the endeavor of the residents, the Norriton Township was then formed.
The Barley Sheaf Inn was built in the 1730s.
In 1909, the East Norriton Township was separated from the Norriton Township as a separate administrative unit.
The area of East Norriton Township was mostly settled by German immigrants.
Up until the 1920s and 1930s, agriculture was still formative in East Norriton Township, before there was an increased settlement of industry and service companies.
