Ebenung is a hamlet in the Vormberg district of the municipality of Sinzheim in the Rastatt district in Baden-Württemberg . The village is located 2.5 km southeast of Sinzheim on the western foothills of the Fremersberg in the northern Black Forest on the edge of the Upper Rhine Plain .

history

Ebenung was first mentioned in a document in 1386 under the name Ebenat ( ahd. Ebanoti , level). The barons Stein von Reichenau owned a large agricultural estate in Ebenung . In the 17th century this came through marriage to the Baden council, Baron Peter von Schwarzenberg . He sold the farm in 1645 to the Jesuit college in Speyer. On June 25, 1655, Pope Alexander VII agreed to sell the Ebenung property to the Bishop of Speyer . The buyer is the Jesuit College Baden-Baden . After the Antonius Chapel , which had stood at the southern end of Sinzheim on the B3 since the 14th century , was demolished in 1974, the construction of the Ebenunger 14 Helper Chapel to replace the former was completed in 1975.
