Eberhard David (born May 17, 1942 in Gadderbaum , today a district of Bielefeld ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1989 to 1994 he was honorary and from 1999 to 2009 full-time Lord Mayor of the city of Bielefeld.

Life and work

Until his election as full-time mayor of Bielefeld, David worked as a church administrator and head of the Protestant parish office in Brackwede . He is married and has two children.

David joined the CDU in 1969 and became a council member in the Senne I community . In the 2004 local elections, he was re-elected in a run-off election on October 10, 2004, which he won with 50.1 percent of the vote (137 votes ahead of SPD candidate Pit Clausen ).
