Eberhard Warkehr

Eberhard Warkehr (born October 2, 1932 in Dorstadt , Wolfenbüttel district , Lower Saxony ; † October 7, 2017 ) was a German chemist , university professor , university rector and local politician .

Live and act

Eberhard Warkehr received his doctorate in 1964 from the TH Braunschweig . The topic of his dissertation was: "An ultraviolet absorption spectrum of diatomic silicon". Warkehr was initially a lecturer at the Darmstadt State Chemistry School . From 1971 to 1996 he was a professor at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences . From 1975 to 1979 he was rector of the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences. Warkehr was a professor in the chemical technology department in the field of measurement and control engineering / process engineering. He also served in the department's deanery.

Eberhard Warkehr was a member of the community council of Roßdorf from 1972 to 2006 . From 1977–1981 he was deputy chairman of the main and finance committee. From 1981 to 1985 he was chairman of the main and finance committee. 1983–1989 Warkehr was parliamentary group leader of the Roßdörfer SPD in the local parliament. From 1987 to 1996 he was a member of the works committee of the Roßdorf community. 1997–2006 he was deputy chairman of the senior citizens' council of the Roßdorf community. From 2001 to 2006 Warkehr was chairman of the community parliaments of Roßdorf. Warkehr was a member of the SPD for almost 53 years.

Honors

On June 23, 2006, Warkehr was made an honorary citizen of the Roßdorf community.

Private

Eberhard Warkehr died on October 7, 2017 as a result of a domestic accident. He was married and had three children and six grandchildren. Eberhard Warkehr lived with his family from 1968 until his death in Roßdorf. His hobbies included gardening, bowling and playing skat. In addition, he dealt intensively with history.
