Maria Overbeck-Larisch

Maria Overbeck-Larisch (* 1947 ) is a German mathematician , university professor and former university president .

Life

Maria Overbeck-Larisch studied mathematics , physics and economics at the University of Bonn from 1966 to 1970 . She closed the studies in 1970 at the University in Bonn with a degree in mathematics. From 1970 to 1973 she worked on a dissertation on the topic of "Symmetrical random walk on infinite regular graphs". In 1973 Overbeck-Larisch was promoted to Dr. rer. nat. PhD .

From 1970 to 1975 she worked as a research assistant at the "Institute for Applied Mathematics" at the University of Bonn. From 1975 to 1979 she worked as a mathematician in the training and further education department of Hoechst AG in Frankfurt am Main . From 1979 to 2012 Overbeck-Larisch was a professor in the mathematics and natural sciences faculty at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences . From the summer semester 2013 to the winter semester 2014/15 she was a lecturer in the department of mathematics and natural sciences at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences. From 2002 to 2004 she was the head of the "Center for Research and Development (ZFE)" at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences.

Overbeck-Larisch was President of the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences from 2004 to 2010. From 2009 to 2011 she was a member of the advisory board of the “LOEWE Center CASED” and from 2009 to 2011 she was a member of the entire board of the D21 initiative .
