Eckart Krumbholz

Eckart Krumbholz (born January 8, 1937 in Weimar ; † March 29, 1994 in Berlin ) was a German writer and editor .

Krumbholz, son of an official, grew up in Weimar. He was apprenticed as a decorative painter and at the same time made his first literary attempts, in which he was supported by the writer Louis Fürnberg, who lives in Weimar . From 1956 to 1959 he studied at the Institute for Literature “Johannes R. Becher” in Leipzig . He then moved to East Berlin and worked there from 1959 to 1962 as editor of the magazine Junge Kunst , then until 1962 for the women's magazine Für Dich and from 1969 for the Sibylle .

In 1988 Krumbholz received the Lion Feuchtwanger Prize from the Academy of Arts. In addition to his editorial work, he published volumes of anecdotes and wrote radio features for radio in the GDR . a. for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
