Eckart Pankoke

Eckart Pankoke (born June 24, 1939 in Recklinghausen ; † July 14, 2007 in Moers ) was a German sociologist and social worker . The main focus of Pankoke's teaching and research was industrial and organizational sociology .

Life

Pankoke studied history, German and sociology in Heidelberg , Hamburg and Münster . After his doctorate on the subject of social movement, social questions, social politics: basic questions of German social science in the 19th century in 1968 and his habilitation in 1970 at the Ruhr University in Bochum , he accepted an appointment at the University of Essen in 1971. Until his retirement in 2004, Pankoke was a professor at the university that was later merged into the University of Duisburg-Essen .

In 1967 he was awarded the Wolf-Erich-Kellner Prize .
