Edward L. "Eddie" Russo (born November 19, 1925 in Chicago , Illinois , † October 14, 2012 in King , Wisconsin ) was an American racing car driver.

Career

Eddie Russo competed in 18 races for the AAA / USAC National Series between 1952 and 1960 . His best placement was a seventh place, which he achieved in Langhorne in 1955 on a Blough - Offenhauser .

He tried to qualify seven times for the Indianapolis 500 . He took part in the race four times, but only in 1956 because he took over the car from Ed Elisian . He could not achieve a higher ranking. Since the race was part of the Formula 1 drivers' championship between 1950 and 1956 , his statistics also include four Grand Prix starts.

Eddie Russo was the son of Joe Russo and the nephew of Paul Russo , who both started in Indianapolis.
