Edgar Himly

Wilhelm Julius Edgar Himly (born September 3, 1839 ; † March 20, 1905 in Stade ) was a doctor of law and, as a Prussian civil servant, was last president of the district in Stade from 1895 to 1899 .

Life

Himly studied law and in May 1862 was appointed auscultator to the Higher Regional Court in Berlin. He began his career as a Prussian civil servant as a government assistant in Poznan . In 1875 he became a member of the government at the commissariat for episcopal asset management in the diocese of Münster and during this time lived at 27 Domplatz . In 1884 he switched from the Catholic to the Protestant church and became senior consistorial advisor at the senior consistory in Hanover . He only stayed in this position for a short time, because in 1885 he was appointed senior government councilor in Osnabrückand deputy of the district president in the district committee. Two years later (1887) he was appointed senior president in Münster . In 1889 he was government vice-president, again in Poznan, where his career began. And in the following year, 1890, he became the district president for the next five years . In 1895 he moved from Posen to Stade , where he was retired in 1899. Himly died on March 20, 1905 in Stade.

His estate is kept in the Lower Saxony State Archives (NLA) - State Archives Stade .
