Edgar Perseke
Edgar Arthur Perseke (born August 11, 1893 in Lodz , † August 29, 1978 in Aachen ) was a German teacher and puppeteer .
Life
After graduating in 1920 Perseke first became a private tutor in the castle of Count von Hochberg, Prince of Pless in the East Upper Silesian district town of Pless . In 1927 he came to Millich / Hückelhoven in the Heinsberg district as a teacher . In 1938 he finally became a teacher in Aachen and founded the Aachener Kasperle stage there, from which the Aachener Kasperle eV association emerged after his death. Perseke was also the "father" of Verkehrskaspers , which he founded in 1956 together with the local poet Will Hermanns . In 1970 he achieved third place with his stage at the international puppet theater festival Pupteatra Internacia Festivalo in Esperanto / International Puppet Theater Festival - PIF in Zagreb . He was honorary chairman of the Rheinische Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Puppenspiel im Bezirk Aachen eV In the obituary of the Aachener Nachrichten Perseke was described as the oldest active puppeteer in Europe.
