Edgar zu Erbach-Fürstenau

Edgar Ludwig Friedrich Graf zu Erbach-Fürstenau (born September 10, 1818 at the Krähberg hunting lodge ; † September 30, 1879 in Markt Einersheim ) was a German count, officer and Hessian politician . He was a member of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Erbach-Fürstenau was the son of Albrecht zu Erbach-Fürstenau (1787-1851) and his wife Sophie Emilie Luise, Princess of Hohenlohe-Neuenstein-Ingelfingen (1788-1859). He was a Catholic denomination. His older brother Alfred was heir to his paternal class rule.

Life

Edgar zu Erbach-Fürstenau embarked on a military career in Austrian military service. In 1848/49 he took part in the campaign against Piedmont . In 1866 he was a colonel and commander of Count Wrangel's cuirassier regiment during the German War . He was wounded in the battle of Königgrätz .

After the death of his brother Alfred in 1874, his son Adalbert zu Erbach-Fürstenau (1861–1944) became a registrar . Since he was still a minor, Edgar represented him from 1874 to 1879 as a member of the First Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse . On November 10, 1874, he took the deputy oath. He did not take part in the 23rd state parliament (1878 ff.).

He is buried in Iphofen .
