Albrecht (Albert) August Ludwig Graf zu Erbach-Fürstenau (* May 18, 1787 in Fürstenau ; † July 28, 1851 Krähberg Hunting Lodge ) was a Hessian nobleman from the noble house of Erbach . He was a member and president of the First Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse as well as Grand Ducal Hessian Lieutenant General and Major General of Württemberg .

Life

His parents were the Prussian Major General Christian Karl zu Erbach-Fürstenau (1757–1803) and his wife Dorothea Louise Marianne, née Countess von Degenfeld-Schonburg (1765–1827), daughter of Colonel August Christoph von Degenfeld-Schonburg (1730–1814) . His father was initially co-regent and, after the death of his brother Ludwig on January 16, 1784, sole regent of the country.

Albrecht had been in Prussian service as an ensign in the 1st Battalion Guard since November 13, 1802, and left the army after the collapse of Prussia in 1806. As early as 1803, he succeeded in the county, initially under the tutelage of his mother. In 1806 the county was mediatized in connection with the formation of the Rhine Confederation and he became a class lord in the Grand Duchy of Hesse . From 1820 to the March Revolution in 1849 he was a member of the First Chamber of the Estates. In 1823/24 he was her president.

He and his wife are buried in the cemetery in Ober-Sensbach near the Krähberg hunting lodge.
