Edge of Forever is an Italian hard rock / heavy metal band that was founded in 2002 by Alessandro Del Vecchio in Varese .

Band history

Del Vecchio founded Edge of Forever in 2002 together with singer Bob Harris (ex- Ax , ex- Frank Zappa ), guitarist Matteo Carnio, bassist Christian "Nidhoggr" Grillo ( Gjallarhorn ), drummer Francesco Jovino (later with Primal Fear , Sinner and UDO ) . The band first came to MTM Music , where their first album Feeding the Fire was released. This was produced by Marcel Jakob, who already worked for Yngwie Malmsteen and Talisman .

In 2005 the second album Let the Demon Rock 'N' Roll was released in the same line-up. This time the producer was Bobby Barth (Ax, Blackfoot ).

For the third album Another Paradise , the band switched to the 7hard label. After Bob Harris left, Del Vecchio took over the vocals himself. He was also responsible for production. In addition, with Nik Mazzucconi (also Labÿrinth) a new bass player and Walter Caliaro a new guitarist joined the band.

After that, it became quiet around the band for a long time. In the meantime, Del Vecchio devoted himself to his other projects, especially his songwriting for bands like Hardline , Jorn and Harem Scarem . A new album with Native Soul has been announced for December 6, 2019 . With Aldo Lonobile (guitar, Death SS and Secret Sphere ) and Marco Di Salvia (drums, polarized , hardline) two new members were added to the line-up. For the new album, the band signed with Frontier Records , with whom Del Vecchio already worked on other projects. The three songs Promised Land , Native Soul and Take Your Time have already been released as music videos in advance .

Music genre

The band plays melodic rock between hard rock and heavy metal . Similar to Yngwie Malmsteen or House of Lords, for example, the music contains many neoclassical elements .
