Edmund Dähler

Edmund Dähler (born March 20, 1873 in Appenzell ; † November 13, 1947 there , Catholic , resident in Appenzell) was a Swiss politician ( Catholic conservative ).

Life

Edmund Dähler was born on March 20, 1873 in Appenzell as the son of the conservative politician Johann Baptist Edmund Dähler . After attending grammar school in Lucerne , Edmund Dähler completed a law degree at the universities of Munich , Freiburg im Breisgau , Berlin and Heidelberg .

Subsequently, Dähler worked as a lawyer in Appenzell. To this end, he was employed as a state archivist from 1902 to 1912, as a district commander from 1910 to 1944 and, since 1911, as a civil registry officer . In addition , Dähler presided over the cantonal shooting club .

He was married to Maria Antonia nee Sutter. Edmund Dähler died on November 13, 1947, four months before he would have turned 75 in Appenzell.

Political career

The conservative Dähler performed his first political function in 1903 as councilor for the Appenzell district . In 1914 he was appointed canton judge. As a member of the professional ethics committee , Dähler was appointed master of the Innerrhod region in 1923 . He also served as Landammann between 1926 and 1939 . In addition, Dähler took a seat in the National Council from 1926 to 1935 .
