Edmund Karp (born December 31, 1913 in Tallinn ; † August 27, 2000 there ) was an Estonian football , basketball and volleyball player .

Career

Edmund Karp was born in Reval (today: Tallinn), the capital of the Estonia Governorate , in 1913 . From 1936 Karp played as a football goalkeeper for VVS Puhkekodu Tallinn for five years .

In June 1936 Karp made his debut in the Estonian national soccer team against Lithuania in Kaunas . In August of the same year Karp took part with the selection of Estonia in the Baltic Cup 1936 in Latvia. In this competition he was used in the first of two encounters against Lithuania. At the following event in 1937 he was not in the squad, but in 1938 . At the tournament, which was held in his home country, he played in both games against Lithuania and Latvia under national coach Bernhard Rein . The tournament was decided by a win over Lithuania and a draw against Latvia in favor of Estonia, which won the title for the third time since 1928 .

Edmund Karp also played volleyball and basketball.
