Ferdinand Edmund Joseph Karl von Freyhold (born December 26, 1845 in Sommerfeld , † December 28, 1918 in Emmendingen ) was a German teacher, composer and botanist . His botanical author abbreviation is " Freyhold ".

Life

Edmund of Freyhold in 1875 at the University of Strasbourg with its botanical dissertation contributions to Pelorienkunde doctorate . From 1873 to 1875 he was at the higher city school in Eupen and later worked as a teacher at the higher girls' school in Freiburg im Breisgau . Edmund von Freyhold held the title of professor.

On July 23, 1881 Ferdinand Edmund Joseph Karl von Freyhold was accepted as a member ( matriculation number 2317 ) of the German Academy of Natural Scientists Leopoldina .

He was married to his wife Hedwig, née Tietze. The painter and picture book illustrator Konrad Ferdinand Edmund von Freyhold was the couple's son.
