Eduard Friedrich Leybold
Eduard Friedrich Leybold (born June 4, 1798 in Stuttgart , † December 24, 1879 in Untermeidling ) was an Austrian portrait painter .
Life
Eduard Friedrich Leybold was a son of the engraver and professor at the High Charles School Johann Friedrich Leybold . After the dissolution of the High Charles School, he and his family moved to Vienna in the summer of 1798.
Like his brothers Karl Jakob Theodor Leybold and Rudolf Moritz Leybold, Eduard Friedrich became an artist. He studied at the Vienna Academy and from 1822 regularly participated in their exhibitions. From 1861 he was also a member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus . One of his grandchildren was the sculptor Theodor Franz Maria Khuen .
Works
Eduard Friedrich Leybold specialized in portrait painting. In addition to oil and water color pictures in larger formats, miniatures, often painted on ivory , and lithographs by him have survived.
