Eduard Schoenfeld

Eduard Schoenfeld (born May 24, 1839 in Düsseldorf ; † November 27, 1885 ibid) was a German painter from the Düsseldorf School .

Life

Schoenfeld studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy under Hans Fredrik Gude and Heinrich Mücke . He lived and worked in Düsseldorf, interrupted by trips to the mountain regions of the Alps as far as Tyrol , where he painted from nature. His genre was landscape painting with high mountain motifs . Since 1856 he was a member of the Malkasten artists' association . In 1877 Schoenfeld took part in the exhibition at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Amsterdam with two pictures .

His wife, née Baum, lived on Pempelforter Strasse in Düsseldorf after his death. She was the owner of two houses there as well as the house Eiskellerberg 1–3 with the art supplies store “Stephan Schoenfeld”.
