Player career
society
The 1.84-meter-tall goalkeeper Belza first played for Club Atlético Peñarol in 1975, but that year was not part of the first team in the Primera División , in which Walter Corbo and Jorge Fossati occupied the goalkeeping position. From the season 1977 until the season 1979 he was player of Club Atlético Cerro . He then moved to Spain. There he was in the squad of Atlético Madrileño in the 1979/80 season . In the 1980/81 season he graduated from Atlético Madrid associated three games in the Primera División , where he made his debut on April 12, 1981 at 1-1 against Valencia CF. A career station in Paraguay at Cerro Porteño is recorded under the name 1981/82 . From his first use on September 20, 1981 against Castilla in the 1981/82 season to his last game on November 5, 1983 in the 1: 6 defeat against the same opponent in the 1983/84 season, he was again in ranks of Atlético Madrileño and played 51 or 52 league games in the Segunda División during this period, depending on the sources . In the 1984/85 season, an engagement with Rayo Vallecano led to him. In 1985 he joined Nacional Montevideo . The period of his stay with the "Bolsos" is given with an imprecise definition "1984/85 and 1985/86". Then he was again under contract with Rayo Vallecano and ran from his debut on August 31, 1986 against Hércules to his last use on May 10, 1987 against Celta Vigo in 31 second division matches. Further career stations were in the seasons 1986/87 and 1987/88 RCD Mallorca (6 first division games; debut on June 13, 1987, last appearance January 17, 1988) and in the seasons 1988/89 and 1989/90 CD Tenerife (24 first - and 38 second division games). The last club station of his career was UD Las Palmas . From 1990 to 1992 he was deployed 63 times in the Segunda División. In 1995 he ended his active career and returned to Uruguay.
Without a precise chronological classification, but dating before his involvement with Nacional Montevideo, a career station at Club Atlético Progreso is also mentioned.
National team
Belza was a member of the Uruguayan U-20 national team , which took part in the Junior South American Championship in Peru in 1975 and won the title. In the course of the tournament, however, he was not used by coach Walter Brienza .
