Eduardo Gregorio

Eduardo Gregorio (born January 4, 1989 ) is a Uruguayan athlete .

Career

Gregorio is active in the running competitions on the middle distance. He took part with the Uruguayan team in the 2006 South American Games in Buenos Aires . In that year he also won the gold medal in the 1500-meter run at the South American Youth Championships 2006 (U-18) in Venezuela . At the Junior World Championships in 2008 in Bydgoszcz , he retired in the 3000 meter obstacle race as tenth and thus penultimate of his preliminary run in the qualification. That year, on May 24, 2008 in Montevideo , he set a Uruguayan U-20 record on the 3,000-meter course with a time of 8: 26.79 minutes , which is still (as of June 15, 2015) is valid as a national record. He was also part of the Uruguayan squad at the 2010 South American Games in Medellín . There he finished 8th in the 1500 meter run with a run time of 4: 07.28 minutes. At the South American Championships in 2011 , he was sixth in the 800-meter run . In November 2012, he won the 10K Nike We Run Montevideo . In April 2015 he won the gold medal over 1500 meters at the Grand Prix Jorge Echezarreta in Montevideo. In that year he was also a member of the 13-strong Uruguayan squad at the South American Championships in Lima in 2015 . There he did not start over 800 meters and finished 11th in the 1500 meter final.
