When the club relegated in 2002, Edu Moya left the club after two years to go to the first division relegated CD Tenerife . There he earned a regular place, so that the first division club RCD Mallorca took him under contract. But after only nine missions in the 2003/2004 season, Edu Moya went back to Tenerife.

From 2006 to 2008 Edu Moya played at Recreativo Huelva . In summer 2008 he signed a contract with the ambitious second division club Celta Vigo . There he had a regular place in defense and played with his team in the 2008/09 season to stay in class. In the 2009/10 season he was no longer used. In January 2010 he moved to Hércules Alicante . He stayed there for a long time due to injury and only played one role in the further course of the season. He had only a small share in the rise of his team. In the summer of 2010, his contract was not renewed. Edu Moya joined Deportivo Xerez , who played in the Segunda División. He only made eight appearances in the 2010/11 season .

From June 2011 to March 2012 Edu Moya was without a club before the Norwegian third division club FK Fyllingsdalen signed him . In March 2015, he joined FC Lusitanos in Andorra. With his new team he reached the runner- up at the end of the 2014/15 season. For the new season, he returned to Recreativo Huelva, which in the Segunda División B played. There he became a regular player during the 2015/16 season, but lost that status again in the last third of the season. In summer 2016 he left the club to join CP Cacereño in the Tercera División . A year later he moved to Delhi Dynamos FC in India. He ended his career there in 2018.
