Eduardo Vieira dos Santos

Eduardo Vieira dos Santos (born March 18, 1965 in Bom Sucesso , Paraná , Brazil ) is a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in São Paulo .

Life

Eduardo Vieira dos Santos studied in São Paulo and obtained his licentiate at the Institute for Canon Law P. Giuseppe Benito Pegoraro . He was ordained a deacon as a member of the Congregation of the Holy Cross , which he left shortly afterwards. He received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of São Paulo on December 15, 2000 .

In addition to various tasks in pastoral care, he was Vice Rector of the Theological Seminary of São Paulo from 2007 to 2013. In 2007 he was also entrusted with the accompaniment of the permanent deacons in the Archdiocese of São Paulo. Since 2013 he has been chancellor of the archdiocese and cathedral priest at the cathedral of São Paulo.

On 10 December 2014 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Bladia and auxiliary bishop in Sao Paulo. The Archbishop of São Paulo, Odilo Cardinal Scherer , donated him episcopal consecration on February 7 of the following year. Co- consecrators were the Bishop of São José do Rio Preto , Tomé Ferreira da Silva , and Auxiliary Bishop Edmar Peron from São Paulo.
