Devair Araújo da Fonseca

Devair Araújo da Fonseca (born February 1, 1968 in Franca , São Paulo , Brazil ) is a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in São Paulo .

Life

Devair Araújo da Fonseca received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Franca on December 20, 1998 . After further studies, he obtained a degree in dogmatics from the Pontifical Gregorian University in 2002 .

In addition to activities in pastoral care, he was Regens of the diocesan seminary and professor at the seminary of the diocese of Jaboticabal and at the study center of the archdiocese of Ribeirão Preto . From 2005 to 2008 he was secretary and from 2009 to 2012 president of the Organization of Brazilian Seminars and Institutes, Region South 1 (OSIB).

On 10 December 2014 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of uzalis and auxiliary bishop in Sao Paulo. The Archbishop of São Paulo, Odilo Cardinal Scherer , donated him episcopal ordination on February 1st of the following year. Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Franca, Paulo Roberto Beloto , and his predecessor Diógenes da Silva Matthes .
