Eðvarð Matthíasson (* between 1969 and 1983 ) is an Icelandic snooker player .

Career

Eðvarð Matthíasson became Icelandic U21 champions in 1989. In 1990 he reached the round of 16 of the U21 World Cup and was defeated there by the Englishman Lee Grant with 0: 5. At the amateur world championships in 1990 and 1991 , however, he was eliminated in the preliminary round. In 1993 he became Icelandic men's champion with a 9-2 final win against Arnar Richardsson . In the 1993/94 season he first took part in the Snooker Main Tour . His best result on the tour was reaching the fifth qualifying round at the Welsh Open and the International Open 1994. At the World Championships in 1994 and 1995 he was eliminated in the first qualifying round. At the end of the 1994/95 season he reached his best world rankings with the 302nd place . After the following season he lost his Main Tour place. Ten years after his first title win, Eðvarð moved into the final of the Icelandic championship in 2003, but had to admit defeat to Jóhannes B. Jóhannesson 5: 9.
