1990 IBSF World Snooker Championship

The 1990 IBSF World Snooker Championship was the 17th edition of the World Amateur Snooker Championship . It took place at the Hotel Galadari Meridien in Colombo , Sri Lanka . Stephen O'Connor from Ireland became world champion with an 11: 8 win in the final against the Belgian Steve Lemmens .

mode

The 56 participating players were divided into eight groups in which they competed against each other in round robin mode . The top two in each group qualified for the final round, which was played out in the knockout system .
