Lars Edward Lucas Blom (born October 22, 1970 in Ekerö , Sweden ) is a Swedish archivist, gastronomy expert, economic historian, writer and television personality.

biography

Blom studied literature, German and archival sciences in Trier , Stockholm , Uppsala and Freiburg im Breisgau , where he joined the Corps Suevia Freiburg in 1993 . In 1996 he became cand. Phil. and graduated as an archivist in 1999 . Blom has been married to the Swedish journalist Gunilla Kinn since 2011. Their son Melchior was born in May 2015.

Edward Blom worked full-time at the Center for Economic History in Stockholm ( Centrum för Näringslivshistoria ) between 1997 and 2012 , most years as chairman for special projects ( Chef för särskilda projekt ). Furthermore, from 2003 to 2012 he was the editor of the magazine Företagsminnen , an economic history magazine, in which he was mainly involved in the fields of trade and food history. In 2009 he published the book Germans who industrialized the Stockholm brewing industry in German , a study of German brewers and brewery workers who immigrated to Stockholm in the second half of the 19th century. As a fellow writer , he remains connected to the center, but is now self-employed. In his own company "Edward Blom & Co" he gives lectures, writes texts and participates in television and radio programs, especially in the areas of food and beverage history.

He has participated in a variety of different economic history programs, notably on Swedish TV8 and DI-TV, including the Fredag ​​med Edward series (Friday with Edward). He is one of the two founders of the "Association of Corps Students in Sweden", an association of old men and inactive people from Kösener and Weinheimer Corps in Sweden. He is also a board member of Concordia Catholica (Katholische Eintracht) and an active member of the Sällskapet Emil Hildebrands Vänner (Friends of Emil Hildebrand Association), Par Bricole and the Pimpinella Order .
