Edward Maclean

Edward Maclean (born April 20, 1974 in Akwatia , Ghana ) is a German bass player , band leader and composer .

Life

Edward Maclean grew up as the youngest of three brothers in the Rhineland. He started playing the electric bass at the age of 13. After graduating from high school, he studied medicine for two semesters in Aachen, then moved to Berlin. He studied music at the Hanns Eisler University of Music and graduated with a diploma. During his studies he also began to play the double bass . In Berlin he worked as a bass player and musical director. Over the years, composition and production have come more and more to the fore, and he started his solo project Edward Maclean in 2012. In 2013 he released his debut album Edward Maclean's Adoqué . The album Me & You followed in 2015 . He also composes pieces together with other artists such as Eska, Fetsum or Chima .

In 2012 he founded his own record label r3w records, on which he publishes his own music and that from his musical network. The publication Me & You , which appeared in early 2017, is funded with federal funds from the Initiative Musik .
