Edward Snyder

Edward J. Snyder (* 1895 in New York City , New York - † July 10, 1982 ) was an American cameraman and special effects artist .

Career

Snyder began working for the film staff in 1927 . His first job was as a cameraman for the film Hawk of the Hills . Until 1939 he pursued this activity for a total of 47 films. Following this, he worked in the processing of visual effects and special effects in movies such as The Sunday guest , Keys of the Kingdom , A Tree Grows in Brooklyn , murder in the wedding night , mortal sin , Somewhere in the night , and Anna and the King of Siam with .

For his participation in the film drama Deep Waters , he received an Oscar nomination in the category " Best Visual Effects " at the 1949 Academy Awards with Ralph Hammeras , Roger Heman Sr. and Fred Sersen . The award went to the competition who were responsible for the visual effects on Jenny .

His last involvement in a film was in 1958, To Hell, Where's Your Horror by Philip Dunne .
