Loulia "Lou" Sheppard is a makeup artist .
Life
Sheppard began her career on the film staff in 2000 in the Franco-British drama In Stormy Times by director Sally Potter . This was followed by major feature film productions such as Gosford Park and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets . She has worked under such renowned directors as Robert Altman , Oliver Parker , Kenneth Branagh and Robert Zemeckis . She worked with Stephen Frears several times, including Gosford Park and Florence Foster Jenkins . In 2018 she was nominated for Stephen Frear's biopic Victoria & Abdul together with Daniel Phillips for an Oscar in the category of best make-up and best hairstyles .
In addition to her film engagements, Sheppard has also worked for television, including the miniseries Monkey King - A Warrior Between Worlds , John Adams - Freedom for America and The Pillars of the Earth . She was nominated for a Primetime Emmy for all three, but could not win the award.
In 2018 she was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.
