Daniel Phillips is a makeup artist .

Life

Phillips began his film crew in 1982 in the B-movie drama New York City Heat directed by Bud Gardner . After doing some work for British television, he received engagements in larger film productions such as Rosanna's Last Will and The Four Feathers from the mid-1990s . In 1997 he was nominated for the first time for the BAFTA Film Award in the category of best mask for the biopic The Queen , a second nomination followed in 2009 for The Duchess . On the third attempt, he won the 2017 award for Florence Foster Jenkins . In 2018 he was nominated for Stephen Frears ' biography Victoria & Abdul together with Loulia Sheppard for an Oscar in the category Best Make-up and Best Hairstyles .

In addition to his film engagements, Phillips has also worked for television, including the sitcoms French & Saunders and Coupling - Who with whom? . For his work on the miniseries Arabian Nights - Adventures from 1001 Nights and Bleak House , he was awarded a Primetime Emmy in 2000 and 2006, respectively .
