Egert Malts (born September 16, 1986 in Otepää ) is a former Estonian ski jumper .

Career

Malts celebrated his first success at the Estonian Championships 2001 in his hometown Otepää , where he won the team bronze medal together with Kristjan Eljand and Priidik Vesi . In January 2002 he started at the Junior World Championships in Schonach in the Black Forest . There he reached 56th place in individual jumping. In September he jumped together with Villu Teder and Kristjan Eljand to his first national title at the Estonian Championships in 2002 .

In January 2003 Malts took part in two FIS junior competitions in Planica . With the team he finished eleventh, in the individual he finished 31st. At the Estonian Championships in 2003 in Otepää he won the bronze medal together with Karl-August Tiirmaa and Alar Kukka .

At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2004 in Stryn , Malts reached 45th place in individual jumping on the normal hill. With the team he came in 15th place. In August 2004 he started in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup for the first time . However, he did not succeed in the episode in his entire career to assert himself in this series. He remained in all competitions without gaining points. At the Estonian Championships in 2004 in Otepää, he won his second national championship title together with Jaan Jüris and Kristjan Eljand.

On March 5, 2005 Malts made his debut in the ski jumping World Cup at the team competition in Lahti . He reached ninth place together with Jaan Jüris, Jens Salumäe and Illimar Pärn . It remained his only World Cup start and was also his last international jumping. At the Estonian Championships in Otepää in 2005 , he won his third and last national championship title together with Jaan Jüris and Kristjan Eljand. In the following year he landed once again on the bronze rank together with his new teammates Priidik Vesi and Ilmar Tedremaa .
