Eggert Christopher Graf Knuth-Knuthenborg (* 4. April 1786 in Copenhagen ; † 28. May 1813 in Sarpen at Christiania ) was a Danish lawyer, bailiff of Akershus and Lehnsgraf .

Life

Knuth was born in Copenhagen in 1786 into the Count's Knuth family. His father was the landowner Frederik Knuth , his mother was Juliane Marie Knuth, née von Møsting. One year after his birth, his brother Julius Knuth was born. Eggert completed his law degree in 1806 and became an auscultant at the Supreme Court that same year. In 1812 he received the rank of chamberlain .

On December 12, 1810, in Christiania, Knuth married Karen Marcusdatter Rosenkrantz, who was six years his junior, daughter of the politician and later First Minister of Norway Marcus Gjøe Rosenkrantz . She gave birth to her husband three years later, their son Frederik Marcus Knuth , who later became Denmark's first foreign minister. Three months after the birth of his son, Knuth drowned in an accident near Christiania in Sarpen. His wife married for the second time on June 22, 1815, and the husband became the Norwegian Major General Carl Frederik Ferdinand Vilhelm Albrecht Kaltenborn .
