Eglay Nafuna Nalyanya (born May 28, 1996 in Uasin Gishu County ) is a Kenyan athlete who specializes in the 800-meter run .

Athletic career

Eglay Nalyanya gained her first international experience at the 2014 Junior World Championships in Eugene , where she was disqualified in the 400-meter preliminary run . In the following year she finished fifth over 800 meters at the Junior African Championships in Addis Ababa in 2: 18.72 minutes. She then finished eighth in the IAAF World Relays 2015 in the Bahamas with the 4 x 800 meter relay in 8: 33.15 min. Two years later, she came fifth in the IAAF World Relays 2017 in 8: 31.05 minutes. In 2018 she took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast for the first time , where she finished eighth in 2: 03.08 min. At the IAAF World Relays 2019 in Yokohama , she took eighth place in the B-final with the 4-by-400-meter relay in 3: 43.01 min and was disqualified in the final with that of the mixed relay. in August she took part in the Africa Games in Rabat for the first time, but did not qualify for the final with 2: 05.54 minutes.
