Egmond Prill

Egmond Prill (* 1956 in Zschopau ) is a German Protestant theologian , journalist , publisher , Israel - lobbyist and book author .

Egmond Prill attended school in Weißbach (Amtsberg) from 1963 to 1973 . This was followed by training as an electrician and working in this profession for a few years before he began studying theology at the Humboldt University in Berlin and at the University of Leipzig in 1980 and passed the first and second theological exams. Special studies were in the Old Testament , Jewish history, and philosophy . He then found a job in the regional association of regional church communities in Saxony in 1986 and worked as a youth representative until 1992 in the region between Annaberg and Altenburg. During the peaceful revolution he was active in the citizens' movement of the GDR, freelancer for the daily newspaper Freie Presse and thus a lateral entrant in journalism. After the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1992 he became head of public relations and press spokesman for the German EC Association in Kassel. In 1999 he switched to the Christian Media Initiative pro in Wetzlar as theological consultant and was elected deputy managing director in 2008. There he is a member of the Israelnetz editorial team, which he headed for years. In 2008 he took over the management of the Christian Media Academy .

Between 1993 and 2003 Prill was a member of the press and advertising team at Aktion ProChrist , and in 2002 he was head of public relations and press spokesman for the youth congress " Christival 2002 " in Kassel and press spokesman for other major events such as JesusHouse and the Spring Festival . From 1996 to 1999 he was the second chairman of the conference for public relations of the working group of evangelical youth . Prill is a co-founder of the Christian Internet Working Group (CINA). As a speaker, he gives lectures, seminars and specialist presentations on the topics of the Middle East, Israel and Jewish life as well as the media and, upon invitation, speaks on these topics in schools and high schools. Since 2004 he has been writing a column every week that is printed in around 1.5 million Sunday newspapers.

Prill is the publisher of the DRAULITT publishing house in Kassel, which was founded in 2014, and is a member of the board of trustees of the Klaus Dieter Trayser Foundation.

He is married to his wife Heidrun and has lived in Kassel since 1992.
