Egmont Wildhirt

Egmont Wildhirt (born March 23, 1924 in Stuttgart ; † July 24, 2011 in Kassel ) was a German hepatologist , university professor and clinic director.

Wildhirt passed the Abitur in 1942 at the Karls-Gymnasium in Stuttgart . In 1948 he received his doctorate with the work The Thoracocaust and its Limits: Strangdurchbrenng at any price? at the University of Tübingen for Dr. med. In 1963 he completed his habilitation at the University of Göttingen with the text "The importance and value of laparoscopy and targeted liver puncture: an analysis of 6100 own examinations" .

As a young doctor, Wildhirt came to the Kassel City Hospital as assistant to Heinrich Otto Kalk . In 1964 Wildhirt was his successor as the head physician of the Medical Clinic I of the Kassel Clinic .

Wildhirt's knowledge was in demand all over the world. He has given lectures and lectures in all countries of the world. His path led him particularly often to South America and especially to Japan, where he was visiting professor at Tokai University in Tokyo from 1981 - alongside professorships at the two universities of Marburg and Göttingen. Wildhirt held a managerial position at the Kassel Clinic for 26 years.

Wildhirt later took over the advisory management of a rehabilitation clinic in Bad Wildungen and ran a private practice.

Since 1949 Egmont Wildhirt was a member of the student union Landsmannschaft Scotland .
