The Klinikum Kassel is a hospital in Kassel and an academic teaching hospital of the University of Southampton . It is the largest municipal hospital in Hessen. Around 72,000 inpatients and 200,000 outpatients are treated annually . The patients are cared for by around 4,800 employees in 1,281 beds in 25 clinics and institutes. In terms of the number of beds, it is the largest hospital in Hesse. The annual turnover is 332 million euros. The main location of the Kassel Clinic is on Mönchebergstrasse in the Fasanenhof district.

history

The hospital has a long history. A Charité already existed on Möncheberg during the electoral era. After the municipalization, the name was changed to Stadtkrankenhaus Kassel, with the establishment of the GmbH, the Stadtkrankenhaus became the Städtische Kliniken Kassel. The Städtische Kliniken Kassel gGmbH was founded in 1992 , in which the city of Kassel consolidated its investments in the health sector. These were the municipal clinics, the senior citizens' residences Lindenberg and Fasanenhof, the blood donation service Hessen & Baden-Württemberg of the DRK gGmbH, Frankfurt am Main , Ludwig-Noll-Krankenhaus and others.

In 2002 the Klinikum Kassel became Gesundheit Nordhessen Holding (GNH AG) in order to be prepared for the future and for mergers with other hospitals.

On October 1st, 2003 the Children's Hospital Park Schönfeld was taken over 100% by the German-Evangelical Women's Association by GNH AG and assigned to the Kassel Clinic.
