Egon Arno Bräunlich (born May 20, 1919 in Munich ; † November 2001 in Tiengen ) was a German pharmacist , painter and artist.

Life

Egon Arno Bräunlich was the son of a Viennese painter, he studied fine arts in Munich with Julius Hüther and F. Kattum, in Karlsruhe with Anton Kling . In between military service and imprisonment. Then studied pharmacy in Freiburg. This was followed by study visits to five continents and numerous solo and group exhibitions in Europe and the USA, as well as publications and diplomas. His works can be found in museums and in state and private collections. 184 pictures were stored in the air-conditioned archive of the Waldshut district in Albbruck while the artist was still alive .

Bräunlich ran a pharmacy in Waldshut-Tiengen together with his wife Trudel Bräunlich (née Bieser). His wife inherited this from her father, who had insisted that his future son-in-law learn a “real” profession in addition to art before he was allowed to marry his daughter.

Bräunlich-Bieser Foundation

In 1984 the two childless spouses sold the pharmacy for reasons of age and founded the Bräunlich-Bieser Foundation on the advice of their tax advisor . Its aim is to promote young artists from all disciplines during and after their training. In addition, the foundation awards an art prize worth 10,000 euros approximately every three years.
