Eichholz-Drößig
Eichholz-Drößig was a community that existed from 1974 to 2001, initially in the Finsterwalde district of the German Democratic Republic (from 1990 Finsterwalde district in the state of Brandenburg ), and since 1993 in the Elbe-Elster district (Brandenburg). It was created through the merger of the communities of Eichholz and Drößig . The two communities are now districts of the municipality Heideland ( Amt Elsterland ) in the district of Elbe-Elster (Brandenburg).
Geographical location
Eichholz-Drößig bordered the municipalities of Lugau and Hennersdorf (both Doberlug-Kirchhain and the surrounding area ) in the north, the city of Finsterwalde and Pechhütte (district of Finsterwalde) in the northeast and east , Sorno (also district of Finsterwalde) in the south and in West of fishing water .
history
The community was created on May 19, 1974 through the merger of the communities Eichholz and Drößig, both communities then belonged to the Finsterwalde district in the Cottbus district of the GDR. In 1981 the new community had a total of 415 inhabitants. At the turn of 1989/90, the Finsterwalde district was renamed the Finsterwalde district and became part of the newly founded state of Brandenburg. In the course of the formation of offices in Brandenburg in 1992, nine municipalities merged to form the Elsterland office . The municipality of Eichholz-Drößig was assigned to the office on August 28, 1992 by order of the Brandenburg Interior Minister Alwin Ziel . With the district reform of 1993 in Brandenburg , the districts of Bad Liebenwerda , Finsterwalde and Herzberg were merged on December 6, 1993 to form the new district of Elbe-Elster; since then Eichholz-Drößig has belonged to the Elbe-Elster district. The communities Eichholz-Drößig and Fischwasser formed the new community Heideland on December 31, 2001 . The Eichholz-Drößig community was dissolved. Eichholz-Drößig still had 390 inhabitants at the end of 2000. Drößig, Eichholz and Fischwasser are now districts of the municipality of Heideland.

The last mayor of Eichholz-Drößig was Bernd Warsönke, who was elected honorary mayor in 1998.
