Fischwasser ( Lower Sorbian Rybnik ) is a district of the municipality of Heideland in the Elbe-Elster district in southern Brandenburg .

location

Fischwasser is located in the north of the Niederlausitzer Heidelandschaft nature park , about seven kilometers southeast of Doberlug-Kirchhain and ten kilometers southwest of Finsterwalde . Surrounding villages are Eichholz in the northeast, Drößig in the east, the Finsterwalder district Sorno in the southeast, the Rückersdorf district Oppelhain in the south, Rückersdorf in the southwest, the district Lindena of the community Schönborn in the west and Lugau in the northwest.

Fischwasser is about two kilometers south of the state road 601. The Schacke flows through the village .

history

The fish water, first mentioned in a document as "Vishwazer" in 1234, is located north of the original location, which was relocated after the Thirty Years' War , in a former swamp area.

On December 31, 2001, Fischwasser merged with the neighboring municipality of Eichholz-Drößig to form the municipality of Heideland.

Culture and sights

Some buildings in Fischwasser are under monument protection. Noteworthy is the half-timbered building of the local church built in 1868. The sandstone font dates from 1386. Other monuments in the village include a log house built in 1791 and a half-timbered house from 1834 in which a small museum was set up.
