Rückersdorf is a municipality in the Elbe-Elster district in southern Brandenburg and belongs to the Elsterland district with its seat in the municipality of Schönborn .

geography

The place in the middle of the Niederlausitzer Heidelandschaft nature park , which is located in the westernmost part of Niederlausitz , is about 100 km south of Berlin , 70 km west of Cottbus , 70 km north of Dresden and 100 km east of Leipzig .

history

Rückersdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1234 and was thus one of the first possessions of the Dobrilugk monastery .

Oppelhain, Rückersdorf and Friedersdorf have belonged to the Luckau district in the province of Brandenburg since 1816 and to the Finsterwalde district in the GDR district of Cottbus from 1952 . Since 1993, the places have been in the Elbe-Elster district of Brandenburg.

The Rückersdorf-Oppelhain community association existed during the GDR era . It was the first of its kind in the Cottbus district and was dissolved when Germany was reunified. The places were part of the community association

About 5400 citizens lived in this association.

Today's community of Rückersdorf emerged on December 31, 2001 from the previously independent communities of Oppelhain and Rückersdorf (with the district Friedersdorf).

In the municipality of Rückersdorf, the "Pro Beton GmbH and Co. KG Brandenburg" and the "Kalkandsteinwerk Rückersdorf" have their headquarters. The state roads L 622 to Doberlug-Kirchhain and L 653 to Bad Liebenwerda lead through the municipality of Rückersdorf .

The Rückersdorf train station is served by the regional express line RE 5 Rostock –Berlin– Elsterwerda . Today's train station was opened in 1897 as the Rückersdorf- Oppelhain stop on the Berlin-Dresden railway . Tracks 3 and 4 as well as connecting tracks to the wood molding plant, sawmill and concrete plant were added later. In addition to the Rückersdorf train station, there was also the Rückersdorf block post, which was located in Grube Erna , and two barrier posts belonging to the Rückersdorf train station . There was a siding of the Rückersdorfer coal works. Signal box B1 is also located directly at the train station . In addition, the Rückersdorf train station had a goods handling facility and a head side ramp. The Doberlug-Kirchhain railway junction is around five kilometers to the north , where the Halle – Cottbus and Berlin – Dresden railway lines intersect .
