Culture and sights

In the center of the district is the listed Friedersdorf village church , the oldest core of which has an early Gothic shape and consists of lawn iron stone. The organ of the church was built in 1984 by the Bad Liebenwerda organ building company Voigt.

Also in the center there is a war memorial on a green area. In addition, there is a rectory and an adjacent building in the main street, which are also under monument protection. At the end of the village in the direction of Rückersdorf, near the Friedersdorf cemetery, there is a small wooden observation tower.

To the south of Friedersdorf is the Täubertsmühle , which was mentioned around 1600 . The former factory owner's villa of the Leipzig factory owner Paul Erich Garms, who bought the 131 hectare mill estate in 1911 to produce flour for his health food factories, was expropriated during the land reform that took place in 1945 and was a retirement and nursing home before the political change in Germany. After extensive renovations, it has been used as a school campus since 1994 .
