Lichterfeld-Schacksdorf ( Lower Sorbian Swětłe-Šachlejce ) is a municipality in the Elbe-Elster district in Brandenburg (Germany) and belongs to the Kleine Elster (Niederlausitz) office in the municipality of Massen-Niederlausitz .
geography
The community is located southeast of the core town of Finsterwalde . It borders in the north on the community of Massen-Niederlausitz , in the east on the community Sallgast , in the south a short distance to the non-governmental community Schipkau and the city of Lauchhammer and in the west on the city of Finsterwalde. Almost completely on the southern part of the district of Lichterfeld is the emerging Bergheider See .

The community is divided into three districts
- Lichterfeld ( Swětłe in Lower Sorbian )
- Lieskau ( Lower Sorbian Liškow )
- Schacksdorf ( Lower Sorbian Šachlejce )
history
Since 1816, Lichterfeld, Lieskau and Schacksdorf belonged to the Luckau district in the province of Brandenburg and from 1952 to the Finsterwalde district in the GDR district of Cottbus . Since 1993, the places have been in the Elbe-Elster district of Brandenburg.
The community of Lichterfeld-Schacksdorf emerged on December 31, 1997 from the voluntary merger of the previously independent communities of Lichterfeld and Schacksdorf. On December 31, 1998, the municipality of Lieskau was incorporated.

The community council of Lichterfeld-Schacksdorf consists of 10 community representatives and the honorary mayor. The local election on May 26, 2019 resulted in the following distribution of seats:

In the mayoral election on May 26, 2019, Gurk was elected unopposed with 83.8% of the valid votes for a further five-year term.
Attractions
In the list of monuments in Lichterfeld-Schacksdorf are the monuments entered in the list of monuments of the state of Brandenburg.
The visitor mine Abraumförderbrücke F60 , a disused conveyor bridge on Bergheider See in the district of Lichterfeld, is now an open-air museum with a national reputation. Concert events as well as various sound and light installations make the facility a tourist attraction.
traffic
The state road 60 leads through the districts of Schacksdorf and Lichterfeld. The federal road 96 crosses the district of Lieskau.
The Lausitz airfield Finsterwalde / Schacksdorf is partly on the territory of the municipality.
