Covalent radius
The covalent radius denotes half the distance between two atoms of the same chemical element that are covalently bonded. This radius also depends on the type of covalent bond (single, double or triple bond ) and on the electronegativity of different binding partners.
A distinction is also made between the atomic radius and the van der Waals radius .
