action

Wiesław Wojnar is a newly rich entrepreneur in a village in the Polish province. His daughter Kaśka marries Janusz. The father of the bride wants to organize a wedding that shows the entire village and his family his importance and wealth. A large hall is rented and Wojnar has brought a brand new Audi TT from Germany as a present for the young couple . The car is delivered by the priest's brother-in-law. In return for the car, this brother-in-law is to receive a piece of land that is still owned by his grandfather. However, the grandfather is not willing to sign the document to the notary. During the wedding ceremony, the notary and Wojnar try to get the old man's signature. When the grandfather finally dies in the toilet, the endeavor becomes impossible. The orchestra does not play as Wojnar expected either. Without early payment they will not touch their instruments. Another thorn in the bride's father is the cameraman who is supposed to document the big party. It's Mateusz, Kaśka's former lover. When it turns out that the priest's brother-in-law is a gangster who stole the Audi in Germany and Janusz is more interested in the sports car than in Kaśka's heart, the bride leaves her own wedding with Mateusz, not without the car first to scrap. Finally, Wojnar is caught by his wife Eluśka with another woman. Eluśka leaves her husband, as do the guests of the wedding reception in the early morning.

Reviews

"Fast-paced, sometimes drastic allegory about the human tendency to materialism, corruption and fraud, whose mocking undertone leaves out only a few fat bowls, but which nevertheless carries the viewer weightlessly through the action with clever punchlines."
