Elías Querejeta

Elías Querejeta Gárate (born October 27, 1934 in Hernani , Guipúzcoa , Republic of Spain , † June 9, 2013 in Madrid ) was a Spanish footballer , film producer and screenwriter .

Career

Querejeta has made over 50 films, including some of the best-known Spanish films of the 1960s and 1970s. He worked with the directors Carlos Saura , Víctor Erice , Montxo Armendáriz and Fernando León de Aranoa , among others .

In his youth, the Basque was a footballer for the first division club Real Sociedad San Sebastián , but ended this career at the age of 24. His daughter Gracia Querejeta (* 1962) is a film director.
